Puerto Rico Wins, 6-5, Over Toucans
|
The Puerto Rico Coqui beat the Sao Paulo Toucans, 6-5, in part because of right fielder Kamasrama Shourov. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Chong-sik Kyung picked up the win in relief for Puerto Rico, while Marco Delpino took the loss. The second-place Coqui now have a record of 46-38.
Octávio Cicia was the walk-off hero for Puerto Rico. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Coqui left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This house was rockin'," Shourov said.
