Murtadi bin Jabbar pitched a dandy of a game to help the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars beat the El Paso Thunderbirds, 4-1. Luis Gutiérrez locked down his 22nd save.

With one out in the bottom of the seventh, Ray Johnson had a game-changing hit. The Jaguars second baseman slammed a 2-run single off Husien Karamera, making the score 4-1, Rio de Janeiro.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Jaguars manager Echo 127, "I like our chances."

The third-place Thunderbirds dropped to 40-46.
