The rain did not keep Sao Paulo and Santo Domingo from finishing their game.

The Santo Domingo Palmchats could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Kent Martin into a win. Instead, the Sao Paulo Toucans prevailed, 12-4. Martin threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball. Sao Paulo reliever Joe McCandles picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Enrique Morales took the loss.

Sao Paulo used a timely hit from Akshey Phalgun to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Toucans ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.

"It was great to come out and swing the bats," Phalgun told the Sao Paulo Citizen.

Sao Paulo is now 18-18, while Santo Domingo is 18-18.
