Dolphins Solve Blue Gills, 4-2
|
Havana and Detroit took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Shafiq Joyo was a major contributor to the 4-2 Havana win over Detroit. The Dolphins left fielder went 2 for 2 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He scored 2 times. Enrique Cordero earned the save, his 1st, for the Dolphins.
Havana first baseman Abdul-Wahhab bin Idris contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a splitter to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 90th hit of the season and put the Dolphins ahead, 3-2.
bin Idris called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
The first-place Dolphins go to 52-37.
