The Rio de Janeiro Jaguars overcame a pretty good performance by Sao Paulo first baseman Yasukazu Mizutani, beating the Toucans, 9-7, at Toucans Ballpark. Mizutani went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was 26-year old left-handed pitcher In-kwon Yun. He tossed 92 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. Apasanka Shally earned the save, his 4th.

Leo Brooks, the Rio de Janeiro first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to make the score 2-1, Jaguars. For the game, Brooks went 1-4.

"We came out aggressive," said Jaguars manager Echo 127. "We came out swinging the bats."
