Foxes Come Up Short at Cairo, 4-3
|
The Cairo Pharaohs faced a tough opponent in Black Forest pitcher Daw Gacharia, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Pharaohs Ballpark by a final score of 4-3. Gacharia went 8 innings and allowed 4 runs. Picking up his 3rd save was 26-year old left-handed pitcher Boris Simovic. The third-place Foxes dropped to 42-47.
The Pharaohs got a big hit from shortstop Kaleb Ame. In the bottom of the sixth, Ame smacked a 3-run home run off Black Forest pitcher Daw Gacharia. It was his 14th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Pharaohs were ahead, 4-3.
"We were the better team," crowed Ame.
