Thunderbirds Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Beefs, 6-5
|
The El Paso Thunderbirds weathered a fine game by Chicago second baseman Joshua Etheridge to upend the Beefs, 6-5, at Beefs Stadium. Etheridge was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Timothy Adamczak got the save, his 20th in 26 chances. The Thunderbirds now have a record of 42-48.
Timely hitting helped the Thunderbirds beat the Beefs. Prime example: the two-out single Bernard Salle registered in the top of the ninth. Facing Guido Spano, Salle gave his team the lead, 6-5, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"It never gets old," said Salle. "Winning, that is."
