The Mexico City Aztecs, despite a fine performance by Chicago pitcher La`nh Vu, grabbed a 2-1 win at Ballpark of Mexico City. Vu allowed 2 runs over 8.1 innings. Abracham Layar, credited with the win, is now 2-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1 innings. Mexico City goes to 55-36, Chicago to 58-33.

The decisive blow was delivered by Inigo Guarani in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 2-run double off former first round draft pick La`nh Vu to win the game for Mexico City. The home crowd went nuts.

"He who laughs last laughs best," Guarani said, postgame.
