Rome beat Paris at The Colosseum, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to third baseman Walter Cole. He was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Roberto Lugo, credited with the save, is now 20 for 26 in save opportunities. The Generals, at 42-49, inhabit 4th place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Afro-European Division.

The Fleur-de-Lis had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Generals going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the four-time Defender of the Year Award winner Amin Mahir came to the plate. Mahir hit a run-scoring double on a 3-1 fastball from Paris hurler Jasper Martin. It was Mahir's 14th double of the year.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Paris manager Jus L. Hart.
