Falcons Stumble, Lose to Emperors
The Beijing Emperors powered past the Karachi Falcons, 8-4, at The Bird's Nest. Berde Lund went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once, to lead the charge. Beijing reliever Gia-Long Hoang picked up the win to move to 1-0. Yoshinori Matsushita suffered the loss. The Emperors have an impressive 23-13 record.

Beijing pinch hitter Salla Usaama helped the Emperors go up, 5-4, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Usaama hit a run-scoring single off Karachi pitcher Yoshinori Matsushita.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Usaama. "But I like how we're playing right now."
