Fleur-de-Lis Throttled by Generals, 4-1
|
Pierre Levasseur, who is tied for 6th in the IBL with a 1.24 WHIP, never let the Fleur-de-Lis get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Generals to a win, 4-1. Roberto Lugo earned the save for Rome, his 22nd. Rome has now won 3 straight, while the Fleur-de-Lis have lost 3 in a row.
Edgardo Román, who finished 4th in the IBL in extra base hits with 71 last year, chipped in a 2-run home run for Rome in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"Watch and learn," said Román. "This is what good pitching looks like."
