Starting pitcher Frederick Segala did his part in helping the Detroit Blue Gills thwart the Sao Paulo Toucans, 2-1. Detroit, with the win, climbs to 22-72.

Fawwaz bin Jalal had a big run-scoring double for the Blue Gills in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Detroit leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from Joe McCandles, who is tied for 6th in the ABL in complete games with 2, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blue Gills ahead, 2-0.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said Sao Paulo skipper Casey Blake DeWitt, "and it cost us."
