Monks Earn 4-1 Road Win Over Cairo
The Daegu Monks dealt the Cairo Pharaohs a 4-1 loss at Pharaohs Ballpark. Jay Samelo, who is the 3rd-best prospect in the Monks organization, was the star on offense. He was 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Mehari Youssef picked up the save, his 5th. At 35-59, Daegu is in last place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Asian Division.

Samelo had a game-changing home run in the top of the sixth. On a 1-2 curveball from Christian Perron, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Monks a 3-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Samelo.

Samelo attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
