El Paso Thunderbirds starter Tien Dung Long found his groove in his team's 8-6 win over the Havana Dolphins. After today's action, El Paso sits at 46-49; Havana slips to 56-39.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for El Paso. That's when Gianpaolo Belmondo, who finished 2nd in the ABL in extra base hits with 80 in 2152, hit a 2-run home run off Florípes Seguito to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Long.
