Jaguars Drop Blue Gills, 4-2, with Late Score
The Detroit Blue Gills were defeated, 4-2, by the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars at Detroit Ballpark, even though Mu-sang Kim pitched well for Detroit. Enrique Morales came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-0. The second-place Jaguars improved to 55-42.

Rio de Janeiro used the timely hitting of Juan Escobedo to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Jaguars on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Rio de Janeiro skipper Echo 127. "I can't complain."
