Jaguars Get Clonked by Beefs, 7-4
|
The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Chicago fans at Beefs Stadium.
Chicago defeated Rio de Janeiro, 7-4, in large part due to top prospect Gebre Batrawi. Batrawi drove in 4 runs. The third baseman had 1 double and 1 home run for the Beefs. Thomas Charbonnier, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-2. He allowed no runs on no hits in 0.1 innings. Tiljad Mbizi closed the door for Chicago, picking up his 26th save of the year.
Chicago took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Georges Imbert hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Beefs.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Batrawi. "It sure beats the alternative."
Chicago is now 62-38.
