Max Scroggs led Sao Paulo to a win over El Paso. The final score was 11-5. Scroggs collected 2 RBI, while going 3 for 4 at the plate. The right fielder also scored 2 times. Øivind Ulland was the winner. He's now 5-6. The loser was 37-year old right-handed pitcher Alfonso Osequedo.

Tied up with the Thunderbirds in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Toucans got a boost from pitcher Øivind Ulland. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Ulland saw a 0-1 fastball from Alfonso Osequedo and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Sao Paulo on top, 4-2.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Sao Paulo manager Casey Blake DeWitt.

The 4th-place Toucans are now 49-51, the Thunderbirds 48-52.
