The Puerto Rico Coqui got a whale of a performance from pitcher Manuel Rivera, but the Detroit Blue Gills still prevailed, 4-2, in 10 innings. Rivera threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The Blue Gills move to 25-77 with the win.

Detroit needed the clutch hitting of Asfour bin Nawfal to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Blue Gills on top, 4-2. For the game, bin Nawfal had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
