Aztecs Earn Late 2-1 Win
Mexico City Aztecs starter Jorge Garza hurled his team past the El Paso Thunderbirds, 2-1. Harvey Yeandle claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 2-0. Hayato Tsuchida earned the save, his 11th, for the Aztecs.

Mexico City took a 2-1 lead on Urtilan Cheromei's 4th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Cheromei hit in the bottom of the eighth, left El Paso pitcher Chong-yee Ming visibly frustrated.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," Cheromei said.

The first-place Aztecs have won 4 in a row.
