Aztecs Suffer 4-1 Road Loss
Sao Paulo Toucans starter Alfonso Vásquez turned in a top-notch performance against the Mexico City Aztecs at Toucans Ballpark. The result was a win for the Toucans, 4-1. Guido Spano notched his 8th save of the season. The Toucans sit in last place in the Americas Baseball League Latin American Division with a record of 18-20.

The Aztecs had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Toucans going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 29-year old center fielder Tekle Jalali came to the plate. Jalali hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 changeup from Mexico City hurler Mariano Segura. It was Jalali's 2nd home run of the year.

"Alfonso looked like he had more finish on his ball," said Sao Paulo manager Casey Blake DeWitt.
