Sao Paulo Beats Rio de Janeiro in 12-Inning Thriller
The Sao Paulo Toucans clipped the Rio de Janeiro Jaguars, 7-4, in 12 innings at Rio de Janeiro Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Sao Paulo pitcher and Estepona, Spain, native Alfonso Vásquez. Anthony Dalton, 9-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The 4th-place Toucans improved to 54-53.

Sao Paulo needed the clutch hitting of Yusuf Hasni to seal the deal. The shortstop swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Toucans on top, 6-4. For the game, Hasni had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
