At The Den, the Black Forest Foxes and Cairo Pharaohs were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Cairo Pharaohs defeated the Black Forest Foxes, 5-2, in Intercontinental Baseball League action at The Den. Cairo pitcher Ciro Galasso had a standout performance. Picking up the save was Carlos Mitchinson. He's now 18 for 24 in save chances.

Cairo used a timely hit from Abdul-Tawwab Talib to get the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pharaohs ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager DP Woodford. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."

Cairo, at 53-54, occupies third place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Afro-European Division.
