The Daegu Monks got a superb performance from pitcher Dustin Sanders, but the Rome Generals still won the game, 4-3. Sanders threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. With the win, Rome has a record of 51-59. Daegu falls to 41-69.

Luys Pegas delivered a big hit for Rome. The second baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Generals ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

In postgame remarks, Pegas hailed his team's "grit."
