In a tight tilt between Melbourne and Black Forest, pitcher Borya Jevakhov was a key contributor. The left-hander earned accolades for his standout performance in the 3-2 Meteors win. The win went to Byron Williams in relief, making him now 2-0. Byung-ki Om took the loss for Black Forest. Melbourne, at 18-20, holds down third place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Asian Division.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ishtaq Abbasi in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Byung-ki Om to win the game for Melbourne. The home crowd went nuts.

"It was bedlam at the end," Abbasi said.
