Generals Come Up Short at Karachi, 10-9
Rome got a terrific game from left fielder Edgardo Román. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Karachi, 10-9. Román went 2-4 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Rudolf Wojcik snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Almas bin Abbud suffered the loss. Chang Ming picked up the save, his 1st.

Clarence Castle went 2 for 3 with 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs for Karachi. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 8-8 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Almas bin Abbud. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Slu Baseball.

With the loss, Rome sinks to 3-1.
