Generals Fall Short, 6-5, at Cairo
With second baseman Wattas Mwenda leading the charge, the Cairo Pharaohs defeated the Rome Generals, 6-5, at Pharaohs Ballpark. Mwenda, who is tied for 6th in the IBL in stolen bases with 35, was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Carlos Mitchinson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 20 of 26 save opportunities. Cairo has now won 4 games in a row.

Shojiro Jouda hit a 2-run double off Pierre Levasseur in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Pharaohs in front, 5-4. In addition to the double, Jouda had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

After the game, Cairo manager J Stell applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
