Scroggs Delivers Walk-Off Win for Toucans
|
The Sao Paulo Toucans, with some walk-off drama, delighted their fans at Toucans Ballpark.
The Sao Paulo Toucans beat the Mexico City Aztecs, 4-3, in 10 innings. Sao Paulo pitcher and Mashhad, Iran, native Jihad bin Ghazi led the way. Sao Paulo reliever Greg Burke picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Joseph Muller was saddled with the loss.
The Toucans got a clutch hit from right fielder Max Scroggs. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to right, to win the game for the Toucans.
"This wasn't a good win," said bin Ghazi. "It was a great win."
Sao Paulo is now 19-20.
