Dolphins Tuck Away 7-2 Win Over Santo Domingo
|
Havana turned a good effort from starter Jorge Marrero into a win over the Santo Domingo Palmchats at El Estadio Latinoamericano. The final score was 7-2. Marrero got the win, improving to 12-6. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Picking up the save was Kwan-yew Lei. He's now 23 for 28 in save chances.
Jacky Blondel had a big 3-run home run for the Dolphins in the bottom of the third inning. With Havana leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a slider from Kent Martin, who finished 2nd in the ABL in innings pitched with 232.1 in 2144, and punished it. The result was his 17th home run of the season, which put the Dolphins on top, 4-0.
"Today was a lot of fun," said Blondel.
The Dolphins lead the Americas Baseball League Latin American Division by 2 games.
