Foxes Thwart Generals, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Black Forest Foxes and the Rome Generals, António Colón, who finished 4th in the IBL in strikeouts with 178 in 2152, was the difference-maker. The Black Forest right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Wilson Rodríguez collected his 28th save. The loss makes Rome 54-65.
Black Forest first baseman Kieran Morrison contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fifth. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 135th hit of the season and put the Foxes ahead, 3-2.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Morrison said.
