Dolphins Beaten By Toucans, 2-1
|
The Sao Paulo Toucans dealt the Havana Dolphins a 2-1 loss at Toucans Ballpark. Rubén Ramos was the star on offense. He was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. António Moreno earned the win for Sao Paulo. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits, while striking out 4. With the win, he raised his record to 14-5. Sao Paulo raised its record to 62-58 with the win.
Mike Leroy had a big run-scoring double for the Toucans in the bottom of the third inning. With Sao Paulo leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Yoshifusa Hasegawa, who finished 5th in the ABL in wins with 16 in 2144, and swatted a double to left. It was his 11th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Toucans ahead, 2-0.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Sao Paulo manager Casey Blake DeWitt said.
