Behind an impressive start by Lester Morgan, Melbourne beat Karachi, 4-2. Félix Soto earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 4-1. Byron Williams collected his 6th save.

In the bottom of the sixth, Melbourne shortstop Ishtaq Abbasi gave his team the lead. With no one out and a runner on 2nd, Black Magic hit his 24th home run of the year. Karachi pitcher Susumu Okamoto surrendered it. With that, the Meteors jumped in front, 3-2.

"You've got to ride the highs and the lows in baseball in order to succeed," Morgan told the Melbourne Today. "Right now I'm feeling good, but that don't mean squat for tomorrow."

The win gives Melbourne a season record of 62-58.
