Wattas Mwenda added some punch to the Cairo offense, helping them outmuscle the Rome Generals, 11-9. In the game, Mwenda, who finished 5th in the IBL in doubles with 46 in 2151, was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Carlos Mitchinson got the save, the 21st for him this season. The win for the Pharaohs raised their record to 63-58.

The Generals had been locked in a 9-9 tie with the Pharaohs going into the top of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old left fielder Oskar Kappel came to the plate. Kappel hit a 2-run double on a 1-1 cutter from Rome hurler Luis Moreno. It was Kappel's 4th double of the year.

"Crazy game," said Kappel after it ended.
