Tokyo Samurai pitcher Xiao-wei Lee was in top form, leading his team past the Melbourne Meteors, 5-1. Tokyo is off to a hot start at 4-0.

Julian Weke had a big solo home run for the Samurai in the top of the fourth inning. With Tokyo leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 32-year old right-handed pitcher Hatim bin Salim and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Samurai on top, 2-0.

Tokyo manager Jace 0221 commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
