Sao Paulo picked up a win at Estadio Santo Domingo, bumping off the Santo Domingo Palmchats, 5-3. Pitcher António Moreno was a major reason the Toucans emerged victorious. The winning pitcher was Moreno, now 15-5. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. The Palmchats, at 53-71, have lost 5 straight games.

Sao Paulo used the timely hitting of Rubén Ramos to capture the win. The catcher socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Toucans ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"António kept his poise and got the job done," said Sao Paulo manager Casey Blake DeWitt. "He was outstanding."
