Fitzies Get 6-4 Win Versus Melbourne
The Tokyo Fitzies defeated the Melbourne Meteors, 6-4, at Fitzies Stadium. Tokyo was led by 26-year old first baseman Alonso Cardenas, who went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The second-place Fitzies go to 67-57.

Munsif Abdul-Muta'al had a big 2-run home run for the Fitzies in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Tokyo leading 4-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a slider from Gerardo Mendoza, who finished 5th in the IBL in saves with 26 in 2150, and punished it. The result was his 10th home run of the season, which put the Fitzies on top, 6-1.

Tokyo manager commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
