Aztecs Rally Late to Nip Blue Gills
The Mexico City Aztecs picked up a win at Detroit Ballpark, topping the Detroit Blue Gills, 4-3. On the mound for Mexico City was right-hander Mariano Ochoa. He played a principal role in the triumph. The winner was Ochoa. He threw 7.1 innings allowing 3 runs. The loser was Guo-fang Ming. Joseph Muller closed out the game, earning his 33rd save.

Mexico City used the timely hitting of Kendrick Sanders to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Aztecs on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Ochoa.

The Aztecs improved to 76-49.
