Generals Lose at Home, 3-2
|
Carlos Rúbio, who won the Pitcher of the Year Award in 2146, pitched well, but the Rome Generals still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Beijing Emperors at The Colosseum. Beijing reliever Bing-zhang Chin was the winner. His record is now 7-3. The losing pitcher was Carlos Rúbio. Gia-Long Hoang recorded his 22nd save for Beijing.
The Emperors got a big at-bat from right fielder Njoroge Sarahani. For the game, Sarahani was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 26th home run of the season gave Beijing a 3-2 lead.
"Tough loss," said Rome manager Tx Horns. "But we'll learn from it."
The Emperors have an impressive 79-46 record.
