Conditions were not ideal but Melbourne and Tokyo were able to put their game in the books.

The Tokyo Fitzies could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Mathias Lefort into a win. Instead, the Melbourne Meteors prevailed, 5-4. Lefort threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Lester Morgan got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 6 innings, giving up 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 4. Mike Delzoppo recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 6 for 6.

Melbourne needed the clutch hitting of Sima Lovre to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Meteors on top, 4-3. For the game, Lovre had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I was a little disappointed," said Tokyo manager . "We could've and should've scored more runs."

The victory gives the Meteors a record of 64-61.
