Though the conditions were not ideal, the Puerto Rico Coqui and Santo Domingo Palmchats came back from a rain delay to finish their game.

The Puerto Rico Coqui defeated the Santo Domingo Palmchats, 7-4, in Americas Baseball League action at Estadio Santo Domingo. Abbas Karani pulled his weight. The 11-year veteran was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Chong-sik Kyung, who is tied for 9th in the ABL in strikeouts with 43, was the winner. He's now 4-2. The loser was Casey O'Finan. The save was credited to Ottavio Grassi, his 9th.

Karani had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 1-0 forkball from Casey O'Finan, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Coqui a 7-4 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Karani.

"Solid performance from our side," said Coqui manager Kir By.

The 4th-place Coqui are 19-21.
