Detroit Blue Gills starter Mu-sang Kim turned in a sparkling performance against the Mexico City Aztecs, leading his team to a 2-1 win. The winner was Kim. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Jin-u Kim. The Blue Gills now have a record of 37-89.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Blue Gills had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when right fielder Armando Madrid hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Jin-u Kim and made the score 2-1, Blue Gills. Madrid went 1 for 4.
