The Daegu Monks had to overcome a fine effort from Tokyo pitcher Gustave Le Floch to win, 2-1, in 10 innings at Monks Stadium. Le Floch went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. With the victory, the Monks record stands at 49-79.

The Monks got a clutch hit from third baseman Carlos Chávez. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Monks.

"Our team showed some resilience," said Chávez.
