Generals Tally 9-3 Win
|
The Rome Generals grabbed a win, 9-3, over the Oslo Voyageurs at OsloDome. Rome left fielder Edgardo Román went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ángel Castillo, the winner, improved to 3-2. He held Oslo to 3 runs on 5 hits over 6.2 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. The Generals, at 58-71, sit in 4th place in the Intercontinental Baseball League Afro-European Division.
With Rome leading 2-0 in the top of the second, Román hit a fastball from Arief Subagja for a grand slam home run. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Generals ahead, 6-0.
In postgame comments to the Rome Observer, Román said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
