A good performance from center fielder Raghib bin Wafeeq helped the Daegu Monks defeat the Beijing Emperors, 5-4. bin Wafeeq went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Monks. The winner in relief was Husain bin Sariyah. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He now owns a record of 7-3. Mehari Youssef got the save, the 13th for him this season.

Marcos Escamilla drove in one run for Daegu. The 27-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Kumar Lata. It was his 35th RBI of the season.

"We found a way to get it done," bin Wafeeq said.
