The Los Angeles Stars turned back the Sao Paulo Toucans, 5-4, at Toucans Ballpark. Brian Hurt, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Maximino Trapa, who finished 3rd in the ABL in innings pitched with 235.2 in 2150, earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 9-10. The 4th-place Toucans have lost 4 straight games.

Los Angeles used a well-timed hit by Brenden Mathaathi to capture the win. The catcher socked a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Stars ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 2 at-bats, it was important.
