Emperors Win, Usaama has 3 hits
The Beijing Emperors topped the Daegu Monks, 8-2, in Intercontinental Baseball League action at The Bird's Nest. The game was highlighted by the performance of Beijing third baseman Salla Usaama. Tse-peng Huang got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits in 6 innings. Daegu drops to 1-3.

With Beijing leading 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Usaama hit a sinker from Sam Li for a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Emperors ahead, 4-2.

"If you don't take any pitches off, you've got a chance to impact the game, and that's what we did," said Beijing skipper Kev In.
