Thunderbirds Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Palmchats, 7-4
With Abraha Saqr leading the charge, the El Paso Thunderbirds defeated the Santo Domingo Palmchats, 7-4. Saqr went 2-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Thunderbirds. The winning pitcher was Tien Dung Long. He's now 19-5. He went 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 11 hits for the Thunderbirds. At 65-71, the Thunderbirds are currently third in the Americas Baseball League North American Division.

El Paso took a 6-4 lead on Gianpaolo Belmondo's 32nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Belmondo hit in the top of the ninth, left Santo Domingo pitcher Markos Fakihi visibly frustrated.

"To get where we want to as a team, we all have to do things out of our comfort zone," Belmondo told the El Paso Chronicle.
