Due in large part to second baseman Ignacio Padilla, the Mexico City Aztecs sunk the Puerto Rico Coqui, 8-5. Padilla went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Jesús Flores, the winner, is now 13-3. He struck out 3 and walked 4 over 5 innings, while allowing 4 runs on 7 hits. Padilla contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Mexico City in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-2, Padilla took a fastball from Manuel Rivera and stroked the home run to left-center. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Aztecs to leap in front, 5-4.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Padilla told the Mexico City Today.
