Thunderbirds Lose Versus Sao Paulo, 6-0
|
António Moreno, who is tied for 3rd in the ABL in wins with 16, never let the Thunderbirds get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his changeup, to pitch the Toucans to a win, 6-0. Sao Paulo, at 71-68, holds down 4th place in the Americas Baseball League Latin American Division.
Tirto Subandrio had a big solo home run for the Toucans in the top of the third inning. With Sao Paulo leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Mayne Rippon, who finished 2nd in the ABL in wins with 17 in 2148, and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Toucans on top, 2-0.
"We came out on top and that's all I can ask for," said Moreno.
