Big Day for Lovre in 10-4 Meteors Win
Led by Sima Lovre, the Melbourne Meteors defeated the Rome Generals, 10-4. Lovre was 1 for 1 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Meteors. Melbourne starter Pavlya Lazarenko was credited with the win after throwing 100 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 6-8. The second-place Meteors are 74-66.

Melbourne used the timely hitting of Ishtaq Abbasi to capture the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Meteors on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Abbasi.
