Jaguars Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Rio de Janeiro Jaguars snuck past the Chicago Beefs, 5-4, in 11 innings. Rio de Janeiro first baseman Jason Endacott, in particular, had a standout performance. Luis Gutiérrez claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record stands at 4-8. The win makes Rio de Janeiro 80-61.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Rio de Janeiro catcher Michael Smith, facing Thomas Charbonnier, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Jaguars the 5-4 win.
"This place sure got loud," said Echo 127, the Rio de Janeiro manager.
